Welcome to Ms. Manuel's 3rd Grade Class!!
My name is Emily Manuel, and I will be teaching 3rd grade Math/Science/Social Studies this year. I am so excited to be a part of the Leonville Elementary Community! We will be learning a lot this year, but in a very unique way! My class will be very interactive, hands on, and engaging, but at the same time, we will be setting high expectations for each individual (including myself!) and the class as a whole! The transition from second grade to third is so exciting, but can also be a little scary for some children. I believe if the we all, parent/teacher/child work together, we can make this transition smooth and reach the high expectations that are set before us!
Behavior, both positive and negative, will be tracked via Class Dojo! Behavior reports will be available through the app, as well as a behavior chart that is sent home daily in the LION binder! Majority of parent/teacher communication will be through the Remind App. Please follow the directions in your child's welcome packet to join both apps! If you have any questions about these two systems, please feel free to contact me.
LION Binder: Learning to be Independent and Organized is Necessary.
We have provided a binder for each child in the third grade in order to help them become independent and organized with the addition of more individual subjects. In each binder, there are sections labeled for both the child and parent's benefit. In this binder you will find a folder for each subject, each teacher, as well as sections for announcements, money/excuses/notes, AR logs, and behavior charts. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me!
The best way to contact me with any questions, comments, and/or concerns is through school email, notes through the LION binder, or a remind message. From there, if needed, we can set up a phone or in person conference. Please do not hesitate to contact me. The communication between parent/teacher/child is very important!
